Marine corp job selection

In the marines there is one thing and one thing only that i wanta do and that one thing is marine corp infantry. the term infantry means soldiers or units who fight on foot.  my friends this is what i dream about. i myself am an adrenaline junkie and this would be what i need to get my fix so to speak.the marines who have this job are  nicknamed grunts because of the hard strenous work they have to do.  since i was little i always admired ground pounders they have one of the ruffest toughest jobs there is. the job requires you to carry heavy packs while covering great distances on foot. infantry are the guys that you see kicking in doors storming houses. they are the front lines they sleep in fox holes that they dig. its a tough job which is why i like it because i like challenges. the pack they carry consists of everything the marine needs to survive for long periods of time because they are very rarely not fighting in some confrontation. this job is almost full so i had to pick a fall back job. which i chose combat support this is artillarary.( big cannons and tanks) instead of storming houses i would have a tank or cannon firing into the house. this is more a thinking mans job and i would never be set out first fight because i would only be used for support.  whatever job i get i will be pleased with because i will be a united states marine and that is an honor in itself .

Marine Corp Poolee Function Mar 16

March 16th 2011 was my first official marine corp. poolie function. A poolie function is an event for all enlisted marines to meet up and do something related to basic training. This month we had a drill instructor from camp Pendleton; he was very tough we all filed into the Marion high school gym. An instructor said fall in and we lined up naturally I lined up in the front and this would come back to hurt me in the end.  We lined up at attention and then I heard the click, click, click of some very shinny black shoes. He appeared a very short stocky Latino his tell tale drill instructor hat and all just like in the movies. The first thing he says is everything I say you reply either Aye Aye sir, yes sir, or no sir nothing else.  In unison we all yelled Aye Aye sir he said, “Louder now” so even louder we screamed. His next cadence was the one that tripped me up it was “when I say eyeballs you reply click sir” when he said this it was with a thick Latino accent so I didn’t catch it right away.  out of the corner of my eyes I watched him storm up to me take his hat in hand and got in my face screaming eyeballs and finally I found the right words to say but that wasn't good enough. He was screaming so hard spit droplets flew to my face this is so gross. I know but I couldn't wipe it off because that would constitute some intensive training. He said do you understand me and I yelled Aye Aye sir! He kept repeating himself wanting me to say it louder so with everything in me. I let out my loudest warrior scream AYE AYE SIR! finally he told me to fall in so I dropped back in the next ten minutes where filled with commands like sit down, get up, cross your legs, about face, and run. one kid was a slow learner and was called out for not standing at attention he was told, “sit down”,” get up”, but never replied Aye Aye sir after everything was said to him so for the rest of the time he was out front of everyone  getting up and down  up and down. Finally he said about face then he said sit down. After the Aye Aye sirs were done it was silent no one dared to turn around. A marine that was in his blues came in front of us and answered our questions.  He also let the kid that didn’t catch on, in on a little secret that he was supposed to reply with Aye Aye sir after everything said. Getting yelled at made me think I can’t wait to go to basic training because it fires you up in ways I can’t explain.

School doors should be unlocked!

The Mason City High School has one big problem. They have all the doors locked (except for the front) this is a problem right now for me because it is winter and we have to make the long trek in frigid temperatures all the way to the front door. This is a problem because Iowa winters are the worst in the United States except for Alaska, but its always cold there. Even so they say it’s for our safety. First of all if they think that it makes us safer for a person that wants to harm students to have to walk in the front door there mistaken. In actuality if I wanted to harm people and I had to walk to the front I would be even angrier. Plus they still allow teachers to use any door their little hearts desire do they think that teachers can’t go postal and wig out? Actually they should be the most likely to snap because of the stress they have on a daily basis. If kids need protection from them selves then teachers need the same protection. Some possible solutions would be one unlock the darn doors so we no longer have to suffer in the cold walking to the front. And if that wont work then open the doors by the gym and have a cop sitting there checking bags and purses.  This would be the best compromise that I can think of that will keep us safe and happy and healthy.   If not they need to just open the doors for winter and lock them in the warmer months.

Drivers ed. Is it necessary???????????

Drivers ed is it necessary I don't think so i attended lake Chevrolet the first day of class we were instructed that we had to show up on time if we were any bit late we would be counted absent but the instructor was never there on time she was always walking in late with food saying take out your text books and start reading while she stuffed her face and when I say never I am not exaggerating the only day she was there on time was that first day when she told us about not being late also thew fact that she really never talked us through what we were learning she would just tell us to read then she would have a guest speaker come in and talk to us she spent more time won her computer than teaching and when we would take tests beings that she is a teacher at clear lake school she knew some of the students and she would talk to them during the tests which was very distracting and kind of annoying  plus very disrespectful and if something was not clear on the tests she would tell us to figure it out on our own  the tip of the iceberg that really set me off was the fact that we were parked in front of a TV and made to watch a video as a babysitter while she left the building completely and she used this time to get herself something to eat or go to buy a car which is very unprofessional i do not believe that the classroom part of the drivers ed should determine whether you drive with the D.O.T it should be determined by the driving performance considering I learned almost nothing new from the classroom portion so is drivers ed really as important as people think

Mason City Code Enforcment corruption

In my opinion the city of Mason City is becoming more and more corrupt they say they are trying to bring new businesses to this great city of Mason City but yet they try to run them out of town and out of town I know this because it is happening to my company right now
Before the city was all for us and now they are all over us as soon as they find one little thing they think is wrong they run with it until its a giant fine for example they on numerous occasions have made new ordinance or if there not new they only enforce them for my company so to all of you people out there who hall garbage or recycling in your cars or you pickups its illegal so everyone going to the landfill or recycling center is breaking the law and is subject to fines I know from experience because I have been fined for this now three times
Also the city of Mason City neglects some of its streets so even if you need to park there don’t plow it with your own personal plow that is subject to fines and if the city is feeling really Froggy they may even make you haul that snow away

Kids Need Jobs

To many kids in middle school need jobs they have to  much free time on there hands to use twitter and Facebook and update Blogs more than once a day those are the less destructive things some of my peers have turned to more risky behavior like throwing rocks off buildings on to cop cars or drawing inappropriate pictures on the band shell or even worse turning to drugs and violence if these kids had a job like mine they wouldn't have time to get into any of these things I can honestly say that having a job has kept me from doing allot of things that could have turned out badly plus with a job comes responsibility it makes you grow up faster i mean it makes you more mature because you have to take situations that affect a company and you have to make the right decision there is no room for error  for your job is depending on it and you could lose your job also when you have a job you have money and you have to learn how to use the money wisely
in my experience with my company I have grown up allot and became much more mature because the business is what pays the bills and if I were to slack off and not do my job not only will I go broke but my company will close  so kids should have jobs so they can get a taste of what life is like outside of the nest and show them what life will be like for them
